Important Information for the Week
Good morning,
As we head into week 3, I wanted to send some reminders for the week:
1. Please don't forget to declare your swimmer as "attending" or "not attending" for the week! We still have several showing as undeclared.
2. We are still short several volunteer jobs. Please consider signing up for a shift below, especially if you haven't fulfilled your bullpen slots. We have these jobs available:
- 6 and under boys bullpen - 2 slots available
- 7/8 boys shift A - 2 slots available
- 7/8 boys shift B - 1 slot available
- 9/10 boys shift B - 1 slot available
- Clean up after meet - 2 slots available
- Shift A timer - 1 slot available
3. Another important reminder: If your child misses a meet and is declared as "attending," swimmers in their relay are affected and are not able to swim their race. For example, last week, we had swimmers pull out of the meet at 2:00. Our coaches had to scramble last minute and rework relays for at least 6 races, and some races we had to scratch altogether, shorting multiple swimmers a race. It is a domino effect. So if you are unable to make a meet for any reason, please make sure you let a coach or board member know ASAP. We know sicknesses can't be helped, but the sooner we know about an absence, the easier it is to fix. Thank you for your help in this!
4. Congratulations to our team this week in our victory against St. Marlo. The final score was Lake Forest: 503, St. Marlo: 280.
5. The ASA Championship is at Georgia Tech on Friday, June 28 at 9:30. This is such a fun experience for all swimmers. Please consider joining us for this meet. We would love if at least half the team attended this meet. I will send an email later this week with the cost to attend. We are still waiting on that information. Please let me know if you would like to attend, and I will add you to our preliminary list.
We look forward to another great week of swimming! Next week's meet is at DeerLake. We will send details about that meet as soon as we hear from the other team!
Thanks,
Heather
