Our meet this week is an AWAY meet at Deer Lake!

Before I give you all the information for the DeerLake meet, I wanted to update you on the ASA Championship meet at Georgia Tech on Friday, June 28 at 9:30 AM. The cost to attend this meet is $48 per swimmer. If you swam with us in the past, you know that we have been able to cover some of the cost of the meet; however, due to rising costs in all areas of operating the team, we are unable to cover any of the cost this year. Thank you for your understanding in this. You can pay by cash, check, or by venmo @lflswimteam.

The entries for the ASA Championship meet are due next week. Please email me as soon as possible if you would like to be added to our preliminary list. Our goal is to have 75 swimmers. As of now, we are only at 30. Please help us reach our goal and bring home another trophy!!!

Now to our meet information:

As of this email, we are still very short on volunteers for this meet, specifically bullpen shifts. Please consider filling these slots:

• 6 and Under Boys Shift A - 2 slots available
• 7 & 8 Girls Shift A - 1 slot available
• 9 & 10 Boys Shift B - 1 slot available

Here is some information that DeerLake sent to us:

1. Address for DeerLake pool:

5296 Deerlake Drive, Alpharetta GA, 30005

2.Parking: There is parking at the pool as well as on the street side. Please pay attention to parking signs on certain sides of the road.

3.Arrival time: Our meet officially starts at 5:30. We are asking all swimmers to arrive by 4:30 at the latest. This will give us enough time to make sure all swimmers are correctly marked with Event, Heat, Lane, Stroke. Our warmup time begins promptly at 5:00.

4.Sparks: DeerLake does not have a minis team and has not planned time into their schedule to allow for our Sparks to swim before the official meet start time. Our Sparks will be swimming their “meet” at the end of their practice on Thursday morning (6/13). They will receive their ribbon and “meet” candy at this time.

5.Bullpens: We take pop-up tents for our bullpens at away meets. If you signed up for first shift bullpen worker, please arrive at 4:30 to assist the coaches with marking arms. Please set up in between the pool and the lake in the grassy area. Swimmers need to stay off the dock, playground, and basketball courts. Bullpen workers and parents, please make sure to talk with your swimmer about this.

6. Meet Set-up Workers: If you signed up for first shift meet set-up, please plan to arrive by 4:15 to help get all of our tents/tables set up.

7.Timers and Master Recorders: Please plan to make your way to the clubhouse for a timer meeting at 5:00.

8.Concessions: They have concessions for sale: cash and venmo available. Concessions available include Chick-fil-a, pizza, candy, chips, and drinks.

9.Theme: Remember, our theme for this week is PINK OUT! Please support our swimmers this week by wearing your PINK!

10.Weather: Hopefully the weather will cooperate this week, but they do not have indoor shelter down at the pool. In case of inclement weather, families need to wait in their cars. We will be communicating any weather delays/cancellations via the Remind app, so make sure you have that downloaded and ready to go.
