Dear Lightning families,

What a great first swim meet! We are so so proud of all of our swimmers. We had some record-breaking swims during the meet, and we also had lots of swimmers trying new events. We also saw some great sportsmanship. GO LIGHTNING!

We are excited to announce that we WON our first meet. The final score was:

Aberdeen: 356

Lake Forest: 425

Thank you to all our amazing parent volunteers for helping out last night, even in the messy weather. We couldn't do this without you all! Thank you for your patience with the length of the meet. We never truly know how long the meets will last, and last night was definitely a long one. On average, we normally finish around 9:00 PM. Hopefully, meets will run smoother from here on out. 

I did want to send out a few reminders:

1. We will hold an early practice for kids going to VBS next week, from 8:15-8:45.

2. If you have not already done so, please declare your swimmer for next weeks meet. Remember, Sparks swimmers do not have to declare. It's an away meet at Windermere. Stay tuned for more information.

3. Theme: Hawaiian/Beach

4. If you already know you want your swimmer to swim at GA Tech (where the Olympics were held) for the ASA Championship, please go ahead and send me an email to get added to our preliminary list. We love to take a big team to that Championship meet. Cost is $50/swimmer that we will collect closer to the meet day.
