Good morning!

Welcome to the Lake Forest Lightning swim team. We are so excited for a fun 2026 season ahead. We are thrilled that almost our entire coaching staff from last season is returning this year.

Our head coach is Tyler Martin, coach at EFHS and returning from last season. Our assistant coach this year is Trey Jackson. He has also been a part of our team as an athlete and coach for 14 years. They are excited to lead our team again this year, see so many returning families, and meet new families.

We wanted to go ahead and send you an unofficial schedule with important dates so you can mark your calendar. I am attaching the calendar to this email. Please note these dates and times are subject to change at this point, but I wanted to go ahead and get you some dates as soon as possible.

A few important things I wanted to note from our calendar:

1. We will have our parent meeting on Monday May 4 in the lower level of our clubhouse starting at 7 pm. We highly recommend you attend this meeting, especially if you are a new swim family. At this meeting, we will raffle off a parking spot and raffle off a “get out of volunteering” pass. See attached flyer.
2. We will also host a swimsuit fitting on Thursday, May 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the lower level of the clubhouse. If you are unsure what size swimsuit your swimmer needs, you can come and try-on some sample suits. Click HERE to purchase your suit. Please make sure you order royal blue for the color.
3. Sparks (non-competitive) practice doesn’t officially start until our morning practices start on May 26th. However, if you registered your child as a Spark or 6 and under and are unsure which swim group they need to be in, they need to come to our first afternoon practice for swimmer evaluations on Monday, May 11 at 4:30. This will allow our coaches to ensure your child is placed correctly. We will talk more about this at the parent meeting.
4. Our first afternoon practice is Monday, May 11 at 4:30. Please see attached schedule for your swimmer’s specific age group practice time.
5. We would love to take a large team again to the ASA County Championship meet at the Georgia Tech pool again this year. This year’s ASA Championship will be on Friday, June 26 at 9:30 a.m. More information to come on this meet, but please be thinking about joining us. We are so proud of our team and the success we’ve had at previous years meets. We placed 3rd last year! Go Lightning!
6. We are partnering with Lanier Goods again this year for our Spirit wear. Please make sure to check out our store, as Lanier Goods will give us a portion of the proceeds back to our team. I will send another email as soon as our spirit wear store goes live. They are making a few tweaks to our store currently.
7. Our meet schedule is not finalized at this time, as you will notice on our calendar. We are waiting to hear back on our 1st and 3rd meets. I will send the official meet schedule out as soon as I have it from the Atlanta Swim Association.
